Diego Córdoba - CEO & Partner, TEKA Capital
Diego Córdoba has over 30 years of experience in strategy, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and private equity.
From 2001 to 2009, prior to founding TEKA, he served as CIO and later CEO of Valorem, the Santo Domingo family’s holding company in Colombia. While at Valorem, he had the responsibility for managing a portfolio of companies with aggregate assets of $3.4 billion.
Mr. Córdoba acted as an independent investment banker from 1992 to 2001, advising foreign companies in their development of businesses in Colombia and executing mergers and acquisitions for various infrastructure projects.
During this time, he advised several companies including Ferrovial, Software AG, Schiphol Group, and Aldeasa. Mr. Cordoba worked with the Sanford Group between 1987-1989 and 1990-1992.
Mr. Córdoba is a member of several boards of directors including Valorem and Cine Colombia, and is actively involved in different private equity associations. He is a member of the EMPEA Latin American Council and the Board of Directors of ColCapital. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Trustees at Los Andes University and President of the Board of Directors of a non-profit organization that provides education for underprivileged children (Jardín Infantil Obrero).
Mr. Córdoba holds a degree in Business Administration from Los Andes University and an MBA from Instituto Empresa of Madrid, Spain. Mr. Córdoba’s native language is Spanish and he is fluent in English, French and Italian.
